I know this picture is really of electrical posts. This I know. But the day I took this picture I was driving my kids to a school I had no idea they would be attending three weeks earlier. So many unknowns linked to a sudden move surrounded me This day I did not see electrical posts. I saw the image of the cross and truth that Christ is always going before me.
I can’t see my future, but I know God is already there. He is working; it is just not time for me to see or to know today. It is the call to “walk by faith, and not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7). I love not only does creation daily call out and testify about God, but He can also give signals to us along our journeys reminding us of His presence.
There have been many times during this season anxious thoughts have crept in, but in God’s perfect timing, he has drawn my eyes to crosses (posts) reminding me He is already several steps ahead of me. I”ll keep driving on this path He is making straight for me. My foot will stay on the gas pedal, and while it may appear I am in the driver’s seat, I most definitely am not. I’m just along for this ride trusting God who is way ahead of me and praying I catch every glimpse of Him along the way.
“He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:17
“… who went ahead of you on your journey, in fire by night and in a cloud by day, to search out places for you to camp and to show you the way you should go.” Deuteronomy 1:33
However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”
the things God has prepared for those who love him.” I Corinthians 2:9
